Heimdal Consultants was established in 1986 by Brian Barker, who studied at Cambridge University of Arts and Technology, now the Anglia Polytechnic University, and worked for some years for the Ministry of Defence on the UK’s guided weapons design programme. Having spent 10 years in the Offshore Oil and Gas industry, project managing design and construction of on and offshore platform and petrochemical facilities in the USA, UK and Scandinavia, Brian set up Heimdal as a consultancy for Project Management and International Recruitment of Senior Offshore Engineers and Managers Brian spent several years in property development and Design and Build with major contractors on sales, marketing and project management of building construction. From March 1999 Brian worked closely with EEDA, NWES, WDC, GYBC and SCC successfully developing Managed Business Centres throughout Norfolk and Waveney. The Property Division became a benchmark in the East of England for Innovation Centre and Managed Business Centre management, exceeding all the targets for tenancy and business support from the centres’ inception. Work through 2003/8 includes projects and ongoing contracts with EEDA, local and district councils, Business Links, Enterprise Agencies, Chambers of Commerce, Managed Business Centre operators, Developers and builders and other private sector companies. Feasibility studies, Business Plans and design work carried out during 2004/2005 include the new Norfolk Innovation Centre at Hethel, Norwich Airport Business Park, and Chatteris Business Centre for Fenland District Council. Studies carried out include the feasibility report for the prestigious Breckland REV Project, Stalham Active Living Centre and the North Norfolk Railway. |
